Usually designers would tell you that designing for yourself is possibly one of the hardest things to do. I would usually agree but thankfully our personalities and venue gave me lots of direction to work with. We love soft, natural tones, timber and textures so when we drove up the driveway of Bendooley Estate – home of Berkelouw Book’s – in the beautiful Southern Highlands, we knew that this was the place we were meant to get married.
.. A gravel driveway lined with trees overlooking the vineyard, heritage gardens, walls filled with books, exposed timber beams, cathedral ceilings, huge rustic iron pendant lights, and an enormous, inviting stone fireplace suited us perfectly.
Our ceremony was situated in the private gardens, underneath large heritage listed trees and overlooked the lake with rolling green hills, and paddocks filled with cows. We held our reception in the Book Barn which we decorated with an abundance of white, green and peach flowers, tea lights and little personal touches.
Our wedding was a very fun, yet relaxed, natural and raw, yet refined, and elegant day. And this was reflected throughout our wedding stationery.
